ex_CIA official charges intelligence data distorted

The journal Foreign Affairs has posted an early edition on its Web site of an article by the CIA's Paul Pillar, who retired from the agency in October as national intelligence officer for the Near East and South Asia. Pillar relates in this piece how the intelligence leading up to the war in Iraq was distorted and cherry-picked to justify a prior decision to invade Iraq. While we have long had plenty of evidence for this, Pillar's article provides the most inside view yet available and should be read by everyone:
