Posted: 02_13_2007 Why Hillary won't apologize for her Iraq vote
From everyone’s favorite commentator, C. Hitchens, on why Hillary is finding it so hard to repudiate her original vote for the war in Iraq. His point is that she was hardly misled, but was providing continuity for a Clinton White House position. Another reason I will not be voting for her. The question is not why she won’t now apologize for her vote, which is silly, but the judgements she made at the time and continues to make, a la her enthusiastic support of Israel’s re-invasion of Lebanon. As for her statements that if she had known what she knows now she would not have voted for the war, other Senators knew what she knew at the time and voted differently. |
