The Department of Defense has identified 3,502 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the following deaths yesterday:

FENDER, Llythaniele, 21, Cpl., Army; Medical Lake, Wash.; Fifth Battalion, Fifth Air Defense Artillery.

HEROLD, Adam G., 23, Specialist, Army; Omaha; 25th Infantry Division.

NGIRAKED, Meresebang, 21, Cpl., Army; Koror, Republic of Palau; Fifth Battalion, Fifth Air Defense Artillery.
