Balter speaks Nov 23 in Cambridge

Here is the announcement of the event, organized by Ben Roberts at Cambridge University:

Dear All,

On Wednesday 23rd November at 5.30pm in WBSR (West Building Seminar Room, archaeology department on Downing Street) Michael Balter will be talking
about being...

"An American science writer in the land of post-processualism"

As well as a regular contributor to Science, he has recently published "The Goddess and the Bull" on the ongoing investigation of Catal Huyuk. It is well worth reading. What makes his work really unusual in the world of "popular" archaeology is that it explores the characters and debates in the world of archaeological theory.

He will be discussing the experience of researching and writing The Goddess and the Bull, writing archaeology for Science and his thoughts on "popular" archaeology articles and books.

If anyone would like to read at least the Introduction to the book before the event, they can find it at this link:

Hope to see you Wednesday 23 November

Ben Roberts
