This is Goddess news if such there ever was, although very sad news: The beautiful actress Alida Valli died in Rome on April 22. She was at the absolute pinnacle of her powers in The Third Man, which also happens to be my all time favorite film. If you have never seen it, or not seen it recently, then please do, not only for Valli but the scenes of war-ravaged Vienna, the zither music, and the terrific photography.
